Selkirk has welcomed a fabulous new children’s bookshop The Bookworm. Bookworm offers Scottish books as well as a wide range of fiction and non-fiction titles. Here’s a list of the Top 100 Children’s books if your looking for inspiration. The shop also offers daily story times and has a lovely area where children and adults alike can sit and enjoy a beautiful book. This short video gives you an idea of what it’s like inside. For extra busy customers who may not have time for a visit they also offer an on-line service.

Take a walk round the Beautiful Grounds of The Haining
After you’ve been to the Bookworm with the kids ( and you’ve had your caffeine stop) why not take a them for a walk round the beautiful grounds of The Haining. It ‘s located about a 10 minute walk from BookwormThe Haining is on the national list of significant gardens, and this short video reveals its’ true beauty.
To find The Haining, turn right when you leave Bookworm and follow the road, keeping straight on and heading down the hill (with shops on either side). Do not turn right or you’ll be heading in the wrong direction. The Haining is on the left handside of the road through a stone archway. The postcode for your Sat Nav is TD7 5AA.
